I Love October

Good morning!  I didn't run yesterday or get a chance to fit in my Chalean and I regretted it all day.  This morning I woke up, ignored the darkness and got out there.  Since it was just a short run, under 3 miles, I was able to get in my Chalean before the girls were up.  Seriously there are no words to describe how much better I feel already!  The changes in my weight and my body are great I am not going to lie about that, I love that my love handles are slowly subsiding.  BUT my mental state and the change in my whole outlook on life since starting to run and cross train is monumental.  I plan to share with you at some point more details into all of that, but right now its taper week and all I can focus on is my 1st Marathon in less than 6 days!  Next Monday morning I'll be blogging as a marathon runner, boo yaw!  That is exciting :)

October Unprocessed 2012

Last October I stumbled across the blog, Eating Rules by Andrew Wilder, and it sparked the change that got me started on my new found health.  Each October he does a challenge called October Unprocessed which basically is exactly what it sounds like, you cut out the processed foods from your diet for 1 month.  Its a challenge, not a contract, you just do what you can and give it your best shot.  I would really suggest just checking it out, maybe do 1 day a week with no processed foods?  There are so many ways to get healthy and if you are looking for something to get you started I think Andrew is a great resource!

What else is great about October?  Pumpkin Patches!  My brother is working at a pumpkin patch right now and we went to check it out this weekend.  There really are never enough pony rides in a little girls life.

They love horses, typical little girls.  Good thing we live in suburbia or Mommy wouldn't be able to resist getting them their own little pony.

Do you go to the pumpkin patch in the fall?

Have you ever heard of October Unprocessed?
-You should really go check it out!  See what you think for yourself!

  1. Looks like fun. Yes, we've been to the pumpkin patch in Utah (glorious), in Arizona (miserably hot). :)

  2. We've had a really warm fall too, but I can only assume not nearly as warm as Arizona. You win!
