Pineapple Classic 5K

Happy Saturday!  I think I finally got a grip on the tornado of a house situation, but probably just for the moment.  I just finished up Burn 2 and tomorrow is my final workout of the Burn Phase of Chalean, I am so excited and nervous to do my measurements.  I am ready to move on to the next phase, its called the Push Phase and it sounds like I'll need heavier weights.  There are some different sets I've been looking into but so far the best priced options are the Reebok Adjustable Pair Weights, I can get them at Target for $70.00 and they won't take up as much room as a whole set.

This morning I did the Pineapple Classic 5K out in Canby.  I did the fun run with Katie, Kim and Jenni, such a fun group of girls.  The run benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and it was Hawaiian themed and full of obstacles.  One guy must of the missed the memo that it was a FUN run when he decided to plow through the four of us at full board and knock the wind out of a few of us...but other than that asshole it was a great run!  Katie picked up some cute flowers for our hair and some pretty awesome sunglasses.  We all wore Hawaiian grass skirts and Kim picked us up some classic Hawaiian shirts to sport.

Afterwards they had some great food and beer for all of the participants and a big water balloon fight.  We ate the food, drank the beer but the skipped the water balloon fight, we were pretty soaked enough.  The final obstacle was a big blow up slide with a pool at the bottom that was filled with pretty muddy water and it was cold!  The race was great and benefited such an awesome cause.  All of the volunteers and coordinators were so friendly and everyone seemed to be having a really great time.

The rest of the day has been spent at home catching up on laundry and miscellaneous chores.  A day at home was so needed for our sanity.  We are definitely in winding down mode!  As much of a great time as we've had this summer its really time to start slowing things down.  This mama doesn't run great on fumes and I feel lately that's all I've got.  I am going to try and be more conscious of what I commit myself and the family to and try to spend more time together just chilling out at home.  Can't believe how quickly the end of summer is approaching!  I already got the girl's preschool teacher information set and have to start getting their immunization forms and all of that, holy cow!  I also have to figure out how I'll be in both of their classrooms at the same time for their orientation day...that'll be interesting!

What do you and your family do to relax and unwind?

Are you an on the go family or homebodies?

Have you done an obstacle course race?
